Delivering Value to Freight Rail One Project at a Time

Clear Path® Work

The Clear Path team made significant strides in the Dallas-Fort Worth expansion project and continued improving the user experience for the Chicago terminal, including introducing geospatial and railroad data in the Reference Map. Our team expects to introduce stop-train identification, near real-time visibility, and train-based metrics to customers in the Dallas-Fort Worth gateway in the new year. A new map update was released for Clear Path, providing users with near real-time visibility of the Chicago terminal and refresh rates as low as one minute. Additionally, automated identification of delayed trains supported faster remediation and improved efficiency – resulting in a 20% reduction in train delays from 2022.

First Responders with Access to Critical Railcar Data

2023 Project Highlights

AskRail® Updates

Our AskRail team launched a major onboarding initiative to expand to more emergency communications centers (ECCs) around North America. This project involved reaching out to thousands of ECCs to provide information on AskRail’s capabilities in keeping emergency responders safe while they respond to rail accidents. More than two million first responders now have access to crucial data about railcars in the event of an incident.

Equipment Health Management System (EHMS)

To further support the industry, the EHMS team took a deeper dive into wheel temperature alerts to identify bearings that are trending toward failure and prevent potential rail incidents. The team worked with industry detector owners and Class I railroads to determine a rule that would work with everyone that they have begun implementing roadside.
