Railinc recently was named among the Top 100 Logistics IT Providers for 2014 by Inbound Logistics magazine. This is the third time the publication has recognized the company for this annual award. Railinc provides data, information technology and information services that improve the safety, productivity and efficiency of the North American freight rail industry.

“Railinc data and technology solutions help to address the complex needs of the freight rail industry,” said Allen West, president and CEO. “We are honored that Inbound Logistics has recognized the contributions we’re making in meeting our customer’s needs.”

During the past year, Railinc’s technology initiatives have focused improving the life and health of rail equipment by collecting and giving visibility into detailed railcar information. Other work has focused on improving operations at the Chicago Terminal.

“Railinc was selected because its solutions solve specific logistics challenges and improve processes, and create a ripple effect of efficiencies across the entire value chain,” said Felecia Stratton, editor. “For that reason, Inbound Logistics editors have recognized Railinc as one 2014's Top 100 Logistics IT Providers.”

Each year, Inbound Logistics editors recognize 100 logistics IT companies that support and enable logistics excellence. Using questionnaires, personal interviews, and other research, Inbound Logistics selects the Top 100 Logistics IT Providers from a pool of more than 300 companies.
