Railinc was named a 2012 Top 100 Logistics IT Provider by Inbound Logistics magazine. Railinc is the railroad industry’s leading resource for rail data, information technology and information services. Inbound Logistics editors selected Railinc for its consistent ability to deliver innovative solutions that empower logistics and supply chain excellence. The company was recognized by the publication for the second year in a row.

“As shippers, carriers and 3PLs rely more heavily on the latest and most innovative logistics IT solutions, Railinc continues to be flexible and responsive, anticipating customers’ evolving needs,” said Felecia Stratton, editor. “Inbound Logistics is proud to honor Railinc for providing solutions that drive supply chain excellence while answering the need for simplicity, ROI and efficient implementation.”

In 2012, Railinc launched the Comprehensive Equipment Performance Monitoring (CEPM) program. The multi-phase, multi-year industry-wide initiative will create an entirely new database of railcar equipment component information. This data will provide better information that may be used to initiate faster and more cost-effective component recalls and may help prevent derailments, lower operating costs and improve equipment-maintenance planning.

“Railinc is honored to be recognized by Inbound Logistics for the value our technology solutions provider to the freight rail industry,” said Allen West, president and CEO. “We will continue to focus on delivering better technology solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers.”

Each year, Inbound Logistics editors recognize 100 logistics IT companies that support and enable logistics excellence. Using questionnaires, personal interviews, and other research, Inbound Logistics selects the Top 100 Logistics IT Providers from a pool of 300 companies.
