The Shipment Conditions File (SCF) is a reference file that qualifies the application of a price. Shipment conditions are used to qualify prices for a shipment on a basis other than origin, destination, commodity and weight.
Shipment conditions can include anything from equipment types to accessorial services and annual volume agreements and are contained in tariffs and other price lists in a language that describes the price qualifiers.
Because there are so many shipment conditions, there is a wide variety of shipment condition codes. Within each code, there may be many alternatives to further define the price qualifications.
